Meet Danni The Doula, Certified Full Spectrum Doula, Certified Blactation Educator, Trained Lactation Counselor, Certified Placenta Preparation Specialist

"My Love For Women's Health Began in Early 2012 as a Community Health Educator for a non-profit community organization that promoted early detection and breast & cervical health education. From there, I began work in Youth Advocacy & Development while studying Public Health, Wellness and Nutrition at the University. Throughout my studies and experiences, I've been blessed to interact with amazing women who ironically had past careers in Maternal and Child Health and inspired me to become a Birth Doula. I am a trained lactation counselor and plan to continue my education & training to best serve the families I encounter.

While I do not have any children of my own (yet) I have always had a love and passion for children and families. My Background consists of Community Health Work, Patient Navigating, Mentoring and Facilitating Education Sessions- which allows me to better understand the systems that directly impact health and access to high quality of life.

I’ve been lucky to support serval families throughout the East Coast as their Birth Doula and as their Postpartum Doula and have years of Experience- which fuels my desire to continue to do this work and expand my impact.

I consider myself an advocate for Youth, Reproductive Health ,BIPOC, and Access to Quality Care. I have a heart to learn and serve"

The Term, “Doula” originated from the Ancient Greek word “Woman’s Servant,” but is defined as a trained non-medical professional that provides emotional, spiritual, and physical support to a mother and her family throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

Studies Show Having a Doula Present at The Time of Childbirth Reduces The Risk of a Caesarean Section Being Performed by 39-50%, Shortens the Length of Childbirth by 25%, and voluntary use of the epidural by 60%.

Exceptional Service is Key: “As a Black Doula, I aim to Comfort, Heal, & Nurture Birthing Individuals & their loved ones (especially people of color due to the haunting racial disparities black and brown people face) at such a monumental moment as life being brought into the world. It’s not about me and all about these families and these babies. Its vital to give these families the utmost care and affection from conception, carrying, childbirth, and throughout postpartum Using a Holistic Approach, I aim to decrease not only these frightening maternal and infant mortality rates but also the amount of stories and experiences of birth trauma from birthing individuals who do not feel heard nor respected during such as moment as this. Above All I am here to Serve & Support”
To Educate is To Empower: “By Providing These Families with Evidence Based Information and Resources to make educated-choices about their birthing options, not only are they now educated but they are also empowered. This reduces the anxiety and stress due to external pressures and fearmongering from others. With education comes power of choice which is pretty dang empowering. I aim to work with families to support and create the environment for the birthing experience they ultimately decided on as they know what’s best for their bodies and their baby”
Embodying The Needs of Our Community: “I’ve always strongly believed in the statement ‘Be The Change You Want to See In The World’ and that was one of the very first things I thought of when Envisioned Births became my Goal. I want to embody the needs of my community to be a reliable resource and connect with others who share similar goals.”
